Elementary string students will be bringing home a note this week about our upcoming concert on December 6 at the Archway Monument.  If for some reason the note does not make it, you can find all the information on the Elementary page.  For Meadowlark Elementary, there will not  be any orchestra this week.  Mrs. Ellenwood will be in Lincoln attending NE Music Educators Conference.

Seventh and Eighth grade string students had a great day at Strictly Strings this past Saturday.  Their concert was wonderful.  As you see them, make sure to ask them questions about the day.  They will be able to tell you not only what they learned, but also what they learned about the students that sat next to them.  Check the Middleschool page often, as video clips of the concert will go up in the near future.

The Seventh Grade will have their last rehearsal prior to their Lincoln concert Monday night at Horizon MS from 6:00-7:00 in the orchestra room.  Their concert in Lincoln will be Friday, Nov. 16 at 11:00 am in the Westbrook Music Building, Room 130.  As you see these students, please give them words of encouragement and support.

The high school orchestras continue to prepare for their December concert (Dec. 17) and their tour of the elementary schools.  This last week eleven students auditioned for Hastings Honor Orchestra.  Dr. Jensen, Hastings College string instructor, was most impressed.  It sounds like the auditions went well.  The All-State students are preparing for chair placements on Thursday in Lincoln and then hours of rehearsing.  Please wish these hard-working students a very successful 2007 All-State experience.

Mr. Klein and Mrs. Ellenwood will be leaving for Lincoln on Thursday  and will be there through Saturday.  Mr. Kitterer will be substituting for them.
