Orchestra Parents United In Service

OPUS meets the second Monday of every month, September through May, at 7:00 pm in the orchestra room at KHS. Occasionally the time and/or date is changed due to a concert. Membership includes, but is not limited to all KPS orchestra parents. Anyone wishing to be involved in the promotion and support of the KPS orchestra program is welcome.

Major activities that OPUS has been involved in include: district music contest concession stand and the middle school soup supper. In the past, the proceeds from these activities has provided the main course for the KHS May orchestra banquet, helped underwrite the summer orchestra program, and awarded music camp scholarships.

OPUS has also made honor orchestra yard signs, All-State treat bags, hosted the KHS orchestra banquet, and provided ushers at concerts.

Communications with the membership include: monthly information in the KHS newsletter, reminders in the middle school newsletters and elementary newsletters, occasional mailings and the use of this webpage. In addition, you can receive reminders and updates by email. Let OPUS know by emailing your address to opus@kpsorchestra.org
